new ozon
wtf is going on here? saw this preview before "funny games" (which blew, by the way. i left before it ended and i've never done that before).... and i was a bit taken aback. i've enjoyed a few of ozon's films in the past, but this looks ... different. for real, what's up with that font? i'm half expecting mariah carey to pop up in this movie with that pink "angel" titling.

I think 5x2 was the last i saw form him. It was so sadly bad. I can't decide if this looks like period-perfection or just sappy. I hope MAriah jumps out! I am also relieved to hear Fubby Games sucked. I was waiting to hear form someone i trust about it. Thaaanks.
yeah it just looks bizarro to me. but this is after seeing swimming pool, water drops on burning rocks and 8 women. about funny games ... i went into it not knowing anything about haneke or the film. i'm not trying to dissuade anyone from seeing it, cuz i know some people like him/ the film. same thing with lars von trier ... the whole attitude and tone that the (very few) films i've seen by these 2 take on are just ... blech! not for me.
I've quite enjoyed Haneke in the past, but am irritated over this Funny Games remake, because really, he's just stroking his own (giant) ego. So unnecessary.
i was SO put off by the ozon trailer. i love time to leave/water drops etc...but this looks like a mishmash of bad styling and art direction and schmaltzy themes...
i almost gagged when i saw the mariah carey glitter title treatment...so weird. maybe it's just a bad trailer cut for mass appeal and the actual movie will be good?
yeah funny games was not so hot.
